We have arrived at our last national park on our tour through Costa Rica. We stay at a hotel close to the entrance of the Manuel Antonio National Park but today we can not visit the parke because it’s closed on mondays. We’ll visit the park tomorrow morning before we take off and return to San Jose. Today, besides checking our mails and writing blogs we’ll do a boat ride on the ocean and go snorkeling as well. The beach is a very nice white sandy beach and the hotels are behind the palm trees. Occasionally some white face monkeys are also on the palm trees and of course there are a lot of iguanas like everywhere.
Tomorrow our drive back to San Jose will take us to the highest pass in Costa Rica, up to 3400 meters above sea level. We’ll also visit the Basilica of Cartago again because my mother would like to se it too. I hope we’ll not arrive in San Jose during the rush hour because driving in San Jose is crazy.

At least I made it on to the board a few times. After my lesson I was tired for the rest of the day.

Today we arrived at the pacific ocean, at Playa Tamarindo.
We spent a nice but cold time in Monteverde. Monteverde is at an altitude of 1500 meters above sea level, has a cloud forest and the wind was constantly blowing. The temperature was around 10 degrees Celsius in the morning, so not really shorts and t-shirt weather.

Today we arrived at Monteverde where we’ll stay for the next two nights.
The last two days we stayed near the volcano Arenal. Arenal is one of the most active volcanoes in the world and has eruptions all the time. From the hotel one would have a nice view up to the top of the volcano and at night one could see the lava at the active side of the Arenal. Since it was all the time cloudy at the top we couldn’t see that.
